Blizzard of 2010

Ben, Katelyn, and Daisy had lots of fun in the backyard.

Mother Nature dumped well over a foot of snow in Wakefield.
The kids couldn't wait to get outside and play.

Who knew a set of snow covered deck stairs could be so much fun.

Wwweeeeee.

Sled dog rides $3.

Pull Daisy, pull!

It's Christmas

I'm so excited. Ben and Katelyn keep talking about this
Santa guy and presents. I've been really good (ask Mommy!).
I hope he leaves something for me.

Cookies and milk for Santa and a carrot for the reindeer.
OK Santa. We're ready!

Yay. He came! And he even filled a stocking for Daisy.
I think she likes her sock monkey.

Tug of War---Daisy's favorite game.

It's not Christmas without some American Girl boxes under
the tree. Here's Molly.

Ben got an awesome telescope. Everybody keep your shades
drawn!!!

Christmas Cookies

One of our favorite things to do before Christmas is to decorate
sugar cookies. Mom makes cookie paint (a special frosting)
and we get out the paintbrushes, sprinkles, colored sugars,
M&M and all our other special edible decorations.

They look good enough to eat. :-)

Ironstone Farm Andover

On Saturday, July 3rd Katelyn and I took a trip to Ironstone Farm in Andover for her vaulting evaluation in preparation for horseback riding lessons. She did amazingly well and can't wait for the lessons to start.

Vaulting is gymnastics on horseback. It allows you to solely focus on
strengthening, balance, and your confidence on the horse.
Megan, Katelyn's instructor, was awesome.

Brownie Troop Pool Party

We hosted a pool party in the backyard for Katelyn's Brownie Troop
to welcome summer and celebrate another great year of scouting.

Each of the girls got her own inner tube to enjoy in the pool
and to take home at the end of the party. Our co-leader
Heidi was the lucky one who got to blown up all the tubes.

B: Sarah, Emma, Sophia, Katelyn, Lily
F:Hailey, Kelly, Hope, Melanie, Sofia

Totally Tubular!!!

We all scream for ice cream.

Daisy had way too much fun playing in the mud.

Notice the muddy paws and nose.

Daisy's first bubble bath.

She loved it.

Moving On to Middle School sniff sniff)

On June 22, Ben walked the halls of Dolbeare Elementary
with his classmates for the last time. The entire school
along with the fourth grade parents lined the halls to
wish them well as they "Move On" to the Galvin Middle School.

Ben's Moving On Ceremony

On June 18, 2010 the fourth grade Moving On Ceremony
was held. Songs were performed, memories were shared
and each member of the Class of 2010 received a certificate
for successfully completing elementary school.

Each of the 4 fourth grade classes had a
cake with their group photo on it.

Weekend in North Conway

This past weekend, we traveled to North Conway, NH
to celebrate my birthday and have some winter fun.
As soon as we got to the hotel, the kids couldn't wait to
hit the pool and hot tub.

On Saturday morning, we went to Mt. Cranmore for some
snow tubing. The temp. was in the single digits but we were
thankful that there was no wind. We were more than toasty
in our winter gear.
Paul, Katelyn and Ben are ready to head up the mountain.

It was a beautiful clear crisp day with a spectacular view
of the Mount Washington.

Katelyn, Ben and I get ready for another run.

Cutie Pie Ben is having a blast.

Katelyn's getting towed up the mountain.
Such a gorgeous view!
Here's comes Paul.
Katelyn and Ben walking through the snow. Cranmore was
putting the cold temps to good use and making lots of snow that morning.
Look Mom, no hands!!!
Paul and Ben are on their way down.
Katelyn and I hit the bottom.
Check out the rosy cheeks!
Eskimo Mommy and Katelyn enjoying the snow.
Another ride down the mountain.
There go Katelyn and I.
After our tubing fun, we headed over to
Black Mountain, Jackson, NH
to check out the snow sculpting competition.

But of course, Katelyn had to stop by and say Hi to the horses first.

Make a wish......

We bumped into our neighbor Wade Parsons who was invited
to compete. You may have seen him on Fox News or seen his
work in front of his house on Pleasant St. in Wakefield.
We hope he did well.

One the sculptures---looks like a hand holding an apple with a bite out of it.

Next stop, Nestlenook Farm in Jackson, NH for some ice skating.
Ben is getting his skates laced up for the very first time.

Katelyn opted to venture onto the ice without skates. She
had just as much fun as the skaters.

Ben used a safety cone for a little added stability.

Ben said that it's a lot harder than it looks. We all agreed.

I made a few laps around the pavilion. That was enough for
me. I even managed to stay upright the whole time.

Hey, Paul and Ben, the NHL is calling.

After all of our outdoor fun, we spend some much deserved
time back at the pool and hot tub.
